Learn Chinese Lesson 2 - Day 

The Chinese character for day is written as . Please note that most of the meanings below are related to 日 / day as well. With 日 , it can form alot of other words such as

日 - Rì - day
晚 - Wǎn - late/evening
暗 - Àn - dark
曖 - Ài - obscure
昨 - Zuó - yesterday
明 - Míng - clear
映 - Yìng - reflect
晤 - Wù - meet
旺 - Wàng - prosperous
时 - Shí - time
晴 - Qíng - clear (referring to weather)
晶 - Jīng - crystal <----- triple 日 means crystal
旳 - 's (belong to someone's . for example 我 (me) 的 书(book). My book.
暖 - Nuǎn - warm
晒 - Shài - show / drying in the sun

Chinese radicals - Step 1 to memorize chinese characters easily

One of the simplest way to get a quick grip of Chinese characters is to learn radicals. Radicals is a word itself or it can be part of a more complex word. Most of the time, radicals will give you a hint or clue to guess the real meaning of a more complex character. For example 女 which means female. When combined with another characters, it will formed another meaning.

The character below, 媽 means mother. Mother is a female. Therefore, 女 is part of the word. You get the meaning right?
